BoP ASIA
www.ibop-asia.net
iBoP Asia is the popular name of the Science and Technology Innovations for the Base of the Pyramid in Southeast Asia Project. Roughly four billion, a majority of the world’s population, subsists at the base of the pyramid (BoP). The base of the pyramid is the socio-economic designation of the vast majority of the world’s population who live on less than $4 (U.S. Dollars) a day.
Asia, despite spectacular improvements in social and economic indicators over the last few decades, remains home to 2/3 of the world's poor. Clearly, the BoP represents both a huge development challenge and an opportunity for collaboration. Maximizing the application of science and technology (S&T) and innovation is a key plank in meeting the goal of improving the lives of those at the BoP.

Humanitarian Futures Programme
www.humanitarianfutures.org
Organisations with humanitarian roles and responsibilities have to be better able to anticipate, adapt and respond to future humanitarian threats than they do today. And they can. That is the message and the goal of the Humanitarian Futures Programme [HFP].
The HFP is designed to help organisations with humanitarian responsibilities to prepare for future humanitarian threats. These threats will be more complex and unpredictable than those of today, and their impacts of an exponentially different order. HFP at the same time also focuses upon a growing number of solutions to help such organisations strengthen their prevention, preparedness and response capacities. These potential solutions come from a wide range of sources – including the natural and social sciences, the corporate sector and the military.

Send A Cow
www.sendacow.org.uk
Send a Cow runs sustainable agricultural programmes in seven countries in Africa to help small-scale farmers overcome poverty and malnutrition. We were founded in 1988 by a group of UK farmers who sent cows to families in post-conflict Uganda.
Send a Cow is a Christian charity, which treats all people equally regardless of race, gender or creed. All those we work with undertake to pass on the benefits they gain, such as livestock and skills, to another family, so our work goes on multiplying throughout communities.
Send a Cow has offices in four African countries, as well as a head office and a network of volunteers in the UK. We have a wide range of partners, particularly the non-governmental organisation Heifer International. We always work with community groups, which are selected by our African staff on the basis of need.
