Practical Action is a charity that works with poor
communities to develop appropriate technologies aimed at improving their lives. Practical Action is collaborating with Science for Humanity to improve soil fertility for local farmers of land that has been affected by deforestation in Peru. The goal is to find a solution that is adaptable to small producers and organic markets.

Vinay Gupta

Vinay Gupta is a polymath focused on addressing poverty and
environmental constraints by developing an integrated
approach to living, including shelter, infrastructure, essential
services, and food production. The Hexayurt Project seeks to provide a low cost shelter and utilities solution for use in emergency relief. Vinay came to Science for Humanity seeking assistance with materials testing of his prototype shelter and implementation of the final structure.

Suthinand Jirakulpattana
International School of Bangkok
A student-run organization at the International School of
Bangkok, dedicated to solving humanitarian challenges in
Thailand, is involved in a number of projects to help local
communities of the Tha Mai Ruak region gain access to clean drinking water. With Science for Humanity’s help they are looking for a way to remove harmful bacteria from a local water supply in a project that would benefit nearly 200 villagers.

Marcin is part of a practical social experiment that will create the
world's first replicable open source, post-industrial global village
with a living laboratory at Factor e Farm. Through Science for Humanity’s network, Marcin is seeking scientific input to further the development of LifeTrac, a multifunctional tractor, and to maximize the interchangeability of its devices.

Water, Agroforestry, Nutrition &
Development (WAND) Foundation

The WAND Foundation provides social development programmes with an emphasis on biodiversity, the environmental and agricultural sectors, and rural entrepreneurship for local communities in the Philippines. In collaboration with Science for Humanity, WAND aims to explore the use of treated household waste as fertilizer for crops and vegetation.

Rodborough Radio Technology Ltd

Rodborough specializes in technical consultancy, design, development and problem diagnosis in radio, telecommunications, electronic circuits, systems and software. It is seeking help from Science for Humanity with developing a low-cost communications infrastructure for rural areas which would connect remote communities with the internet and mobile telephony.
